Who we are
Olivarium is a personal journey we started, Felipe and Fran, many years ago when we moved to Sweden. Back then, we were just two people who loved cooking at home and were constantly disappointed by the olive oil we found in the supermarket. It wasn’t bad; it just didn’t taste like the oils we grew up with or the ones we’d tried while traveling.
On one trip to Andalucía, almost by accident, we began visiting small mills. We tasted oils straight from the source, talked to the people who made them, and saw how much work goes into something that often gets treated like a basic pantry item. Those oils tasted alive, green, vibrant, peppery, and nothing like what we were used to finding here.
We came back with bottles for ourselves.
Then for friends.
Then for the friends of our friends.
At some point it became clear this wasn’t just a habit, it had become a project.
Olivarium is simply our way of bringing those discoveries to Sweden. Nothing complicated. Just oils we’ve tasted with the producers, from mills we’ve actually visited, made by people who care about their craft. The same oils we use at home, on warm bread, on tomatoes, on everything.
This isn’t a big operation. It’s two people who enjoy good ingredients, who believe that everyday food tastes better when the basics are done right, and who still get excited each time a new bottle arrives.
